Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is therapy, and how can it help me?
Therapy is a confidential and supportive process that allows you to explore and address various emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges. A licensed therapist provides a safe space for self-exploration, personal growth, and coping strategies to improve overall well-being and relationships.
2. How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy can benefit individuals facing a wide range of issues, such as anxiety, depression, relationship problems, stress, trauma, and more. If you find yourself struggling with any of these challenges or feeling overwhelmed, therapy might be the right choice for you.
3. What can I expect during my therapy sessions?
In therapy, you can expect a warm and non-judgmental environment. The therapist will actively listen, ask questions, and provide guidance to help you gain insights into your emotions and behaviors. Together, you'll work on setting goals and developing coping strategies to address your concerns.
4. How long does therapy take?
The duration of therapy varies depending on individual needs and goals. Some people may find relief and make progress in a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy. Ultimately, the decision to continue or conclude therapy is made collaboratively between you and your therapist.
5. Is therapy confidential?
Yes, therapy is confidential, which means that your discussions with the therapist are kept private. Exceptions may apply in cases of immediate danger to yourself or others or when required by law to report certain situations. Your therapist will discuss confidentiality guidelines during your first session.
6. How do I choose the right therapist for me?
Choosing the right therapist is essential for a successful therapeutic journey. Factors to consider include the therapist's expertise, approach, and personality fit with yours. Take time to research potential therapists and consider scheduling an initial consultation to see if you feel comfortable working together.
7. What types of therapy do you offer?
I offer a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. The specific approach used will be tailored to your unique needs and goals.

Therapy fees can vary based on session length, type of therapy, and location. My current fee for service is 175.00 per hour. I currently accept the following health insurance plans: Aetna, United Healthcare and Tricare (for dependents). I am happy to discuss my fees and the potential for a sliding scale fee during an initial consultation.
